FYI, MMA stands for Mixed Martial Arts. This is the generic term for the sport. UFC stands for Ultimate Fighting Champion, and it is one of many organizations (and the biggest) within the sport of MMA. Just a little lesson there for those new to the MMA. Most MMA fighters have nicknames. Here’s a few of the most famous fighters’ nicknames off the top of my head.

  • Anderson “The Spider” Silva
  • Chuck “The Iceman” Lidell
  • Quenten “Rampage” Jackson
  • Randy “The Natural” Couture
  • Vanderleigh “The Axe Murderer” Silva (one of my favorites)
  • Rich “Ace” Franklin - because he looks like Jim Carry (Ace Ventura)
  • BJ “The Prodigy” Penn
  • Sean “The Muscle Shark” Sherk

And lots more. So if you were an MMA fighter, what would your nickname be? This is not a hypothetical question, so please leave a comment if you have one. I’m still working on mine. I’m considering “The Cheesemeister”, or maybe “Sir Chewalot”. You are welcome to suggest one for me as well.
