Here’s another video that you may have seen, or at least heard about.

When you become a parent, you see a lot of things differently. This is one of those things. If I had seen this during the first 11 years of our marriage, I probably would have thought, “nice story”, and moved on. But as a parent, I often process things as they relate to my children. When I watched and listened to this boy talk about his calf that died, I couldn’t help but see Jaxon in that situation. He even kind of looks like Jaxon. The boy in this story was 12 when he made the call to the radio station. Jaxon is 5. I can see Jaxon being upset when somebody or some animal close to him dies, and I wonder how he will process it. I wonder if he will rely on the faith lessons that Beth and I have tried to instill in him. I wonder if he will have a desire to share his story about Jesus with others. I think he will, but then I’m sure all parents think that about their children. A story like this reminds me and helps me re-focus on what’s important about parenting - raising children up to adults that faithfully love and serve the Lord and people.
