My 5 year old son and I got to seem some fantastic fireworks displays this 4th. We saw the big city show on Thursday night, and it was pretty impressive as usual. Then on Friday, the 4th, we went to a friends house who was hosting a 4th of July party. I had purchased about 3 bags of assorted fireworks to shoot off, and took them with us. When we got there, I noticed they had a lawn tractor trailer full of big shot fireworks. We ended up laying on our backs out on their back lawn, looking straight up to the stars while they shot the fireworks just a few feet away from us. It was a spectacular show, much better than the city show we had been to the night before. If you’ve never had the opportunity to watch a fireworks show directly overhead while laying flat on your back, I would strongly recommend it, at least once. It looks like they are exploding right over your face… I guess the are. The smoke is all around, you can smell it and taste it, and the sound of the shells launching and exploding in the air fill your ears. They were the same fireworks we had seen many times before, but with a new perspective, it becomes an even much more fantastic show.
