Intro to Passion
filed in Life, Spiritual on Aug.02, 2008
I’ve been thinking a lot about passion lately. The first thing I learned is that I have a lot of questions.
- How would I define passion?
- Does everybody have a passion?
- Can we have multiple passions?
- Why do some people not seem to have any passions?
- How do we find our passion?
- Can we create a passion within us, or does it have to be inborn?
- Should our passions only be spiritually directed? or is it ok to have a passion for softball?
- Can our passion be another person? family?
- Do our passions change over a lifetime?
- Are people that know their passions happier than people that don’t?
If you go to Google and search for “find your passion”, you will get pages of websites that supposedly can help you find your passion. I read through a few of them, but didn’t really see anything that looked like it was fool-proof.
So for the next few weeks, I’m going to try to mix in a few entries on passion. Do you know what your passion is? For starters, here’s a few questions I think can help identify our passions.
- What subject in your life do you get most excited talking about or thinking about?
- What activity makes you feel most alive?
- If you knew you had 1 month to live, what would you want to spend most of your time doing?
Those are some complex questions that we probably need to put some thought into.
More on passion to come.
